  • A study led by Felice Tirone in collaboration with Laura Micheli, Giorgio D'Andrea e Manuela Ceccarelli of the National Research Council’s Biochemistry and Cellular Biology Institute (Cnr- Ibbc) reveals that olive oil counters the aging of brain cells, particularly in older subjects, confirming once again the benefits of the Mediterranean diet.

    Le Strade della Mozzarella came back in New York City with its third successful edition, gathering food lovers, entrepreneurs and a selection of the best Neapolitan and Italian American pizza makers in the world. A particular attention went to all Made in Italy products and quality ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, such as Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, San Marzano Tomatoes and Extravirgin Olive Oil.
  • Little Italy’s Italian American Museum hosted a seminar on “The Mediterranean Diet: Present, Past and Future,” featuring presentations by experts on the subject. The seminar occurred on the heels of the passage of a new law in Calabria that looks to promote the Mediterranean Diet in relation to Nicotera, the birthplace of the Diet.

    From November 13th-19th, the second World Week of Italian Cuisine will take place across the United States. There will be educational conferences, food workshops, cooking classes, and much more taking place to promote Italian food culture this year.
