    Guardando Michelangelo Antonioni

In 2012 Italy celebrated the Michelangelo Antonioni’s Centenary (1912-2007) the Italian Master filmmakers who redefined the concept of narrative cinema and is considered one of the most remarkable creative artists of the postwar cinema. Under his direction, the film became a metaphor for human experience rather than a record of it.

The retrospective was hosted by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba and the Italian Embassy in Cuba, during the celebrations of “XV Semana de la Cultura Italiana in Cuba” (November 16-29, 2012) and from Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos during the Film Festival (Dicember 4-14, 2012). Working with him on the set of “Sicilia” I was honered to portray the Master in the most delightful places wisely chosen by him.

Maria Grazie Cucinotta, the Sicilian movie star, is the only interpreter of the documentary who adds charm to the absolute beauty of the island.
