    THE REGION ACCORDING TO ONE OF ITS MAJOR ENTREPRENEURS: Enrico Colavita. A life devoted to entrepreneur-ship and internationalization. His is an exemplary story. From a family business in a small village in Molise he embarked on a great adventure that would bring olive oil to the world, the United States in particular. Today, Colavita is not only in the olive oil business; it has put its international practice to the service of both region and country.
  • Last summer, doing our annual browsing at the packed Italian Pavilion at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, we met Maria Teresa Sassano, a businesswoman from Puglia and National Vice President of the Small Industry Committee of Confindustria, the largest industrial organization in Italy (see box to the right). We hung back to talk with her about women’s roles in Italian industry and her personal efforts to promote the internationalization of small and medium-sized Italian companies.

  • In the 2018-19 school year two Dual Lan-guage Program will take off: one at PS242 in Manhattan (West Harlem) and the other one at PS132 in Williamsburg. This was made possible thanks to the work done by to Moth-ers: Stefaia Puxeddu and Benedetta Scardovi-Mounier. Their efforts have opened a path and created hope for other parents. At an in-stitutional level, their initiative has the full support of the Italian General Consulate in New York and the Italian American Commit-tee on Education

Questo grazie al lavoro due mamme: Stefania Puxeddu e Benedetta Scardovi-Mounie. La loro mobilitazione ha aperto la strada e la speranza anche per altri genitori. A livello istituzionale il Consolato Generale d’Italia a New York e lo IACE hanno sostenuto e continuano a sostenere pienamente l’ iniziativa
